Mental health challenges are a silent crisis, and one in seven people across Norfolk live with anxiety or depression. Behind that figure are individuals and families navigating the daily weight of anxiety, depression, loneliness, and uncertainty, often without the support they need. These struggles don’t just affect minds, they shape lives, relationships, and communities.

That's why we exist.

In 2024-25, we held 89,738 1:1 appointments.

This isn’t just growth in numbers; it’s a reflection of rising need and the increasing trust placed in us by our community. It shows that people are reaching out, that they believe support is possible, and that they believe in us to deliver it.

We exist because the need in Norfolk and Waveney is real, it’s growing, and it cannot be ignored.

But we also exist because recovery is possible.

With the right support, people don’t just survive, they begin to heal, reconnect, and rebuild their lives.

Nicole shared with us how she lost her partner Martin to suicide and how support from Norfolk and Waveney Mind’s suicide bereavement service helped her feel less alone and begin to find hope again. She explains that connecting with others who understood her grief made a real difference in her healing journey.

If I had to describe Norfolk and Waveney Mind's suicide bereavement service to anyone, I would just say that it is one of the most beneficial things that I have ever come across in my whole entire life. That was the first time since losing Martin that I felt heard and that I felt like there was actual tangible support available.
